Hostels in New York City
Many people don’t even know what a hostel is let alone what it means. By definition, a hostel is an inexpensive, supervised lodging place for young people who are traveling or backpacking across the country. So if you are planning a trip to the Big Apple and want cheap but clean accommodation then chose a hostel instead of one of the New York hotels.
Hostels can be found all over New York, in Manhattan, Central Park, downtown, midtown, east village, Soho and little Italy. The Wanderers Inn West is within walking distance of the famous Central Park with bed prices beginning at just $18 per night. If you are wanted to stay in the Greenwich Village area, then look for the Chelsea International Hostel. This one is close to midtown sites and the safest area in Manhattan and just across from the 10th Precinct.

The subway and the train are just two blocks away and the accommodations are classic yet modern. This is a great way to save money if you don’t need the extra features the big hotels offer. There are no pools or restaurants at hostels, and rooms are shared.
